We built Hip Haus a two-part check-in system. A web app and a native Android scanner that makes event entry a single QR scan and turns every guest into real-time business intelligence.

The Challenge

The problem we set out to solve

Checking guests into Hip Haus events was slow and manual. Tickets were sold across two platforms (Eventbrite and Meetup) with no unified view, and staff verified guests against lists by hand. Worse, the events generated no usable insight: Hip Haus couldn't see how many guests were returning, how tickets and refunds trended, or what any guest was worth over time. The data existed, but it was locked away.

Part 1

One source of truth for tickets and the analytics behind it

Hip Haus sells tickets on both Eventbrite and Meetup. The web app syncs tickets from both platforms into a single database, validates them on demand, and turns every check-in into data. Its dashboard surfaces returning-guest rates, ticket / check-in / refund counts, and guest lifetime value (individual and average) in real time. None of this was visible before.

Android scanner & badge printer
Part 2

One scan. Checked in, badged, welcomed.

The Android app, built natively in Android Studio, is the device at the door. A guest holds up the QR code on their ticket and from that single scan, with no other interaction, the app verifies the ticket against the web app, checks the guest in, and prints a name badge via the Brother SDK. It recognises returning guests and greets them with a personalised welcome-back message.
